Welcome To Exit 0
To further extend their reach and impact, Exit 0 has two mobile units that traverse the community, stocked with a variety of supplies throughout the year. Every Sunday, the organization connects with their unhoused friends, providing them with much-needed food and other resources at various meal distribution locations in Jeffersonville and Clarksville. In addition, Exit 0 collaborates closely with Love Unlimited and Uplift Them, two fellow nonprofits based in New Albany, to coordinate efforts and support one another in addressing the pressing needs of the region’s vulnerable populations.
During the colder months, the dedicated team at Exit 0 takes on the vital task of checking on their unhoused friends, ensuring they have the necessary provisions to survive the harsh elements and exploring the option of White Flag, which provides temporary shelter for the night 7Pm-7Am. It’s important to note that Southern Indiana is home to only one shelter, the Catalyst Rescue Mission, which is expected to serve 12 counties, leading to a severe strain on its resources and capacity due to the alarmingly high number of individuals experiencing homelessness in the area.
Relying solely on the generosity of donors like you, Exit 0 operates without any paid staff, instead drawing upon the unwavering commitment of a devoted army of volunteers and the steadfast support of a Loving community that truly embodies the spirit of “What Would Jesus Do?” With a focus on empowering individuals, Exit 0 adopts a “teach a man to fish” approach, guiding those in need towards obtaining proper identification and connecting them with the resources and partner organizations that can help them reintegrate into the community and regain their footing.
