Paul Stensrud at Jesus Cares at Exit 0 Ministries can’t sit still when he knows people are suffering elsewhere.
Not when there is a homeless person living on the street in need in Indiana. Not when a storm creates chaos in Florida.
Paul and his team drove in from Indiana with 12,000 pounds of food to be distributed in this community for the homeless and others affected by the storm. Trinity Cafe was connected with Paul through Beth Ross at Blanket Tampa Bay. We in turn asked partners Nu-Vista Foods to offer storage space for the food until Feeding Tampa Bay can work out logistics of distributing the food to those in the most need.
While Paul is here he and his team plan to join Blanket Tampa Bay’s Monday night outreach at St. Peter Claver Church with Mike “Doc” Bonacum offering his medical services supported by USF Medical students.
Their Homeless Outreach vehicle is a sight to behold – it’s a mobile service on wheels. Everything self-contained from medical supplies, to food, toiletry items, shoes, clothing, tents, tarps, blankets, backpacks and more. Computer and internet access connect folks to services. Jesus Cares at Exit 0 is their full-time ministry in Indiana and their part-time ministry in other states when the need arises!
